The Metaverse: a way to save the Amazon rainforest?

If the metaverse, this thriving virtual universe, is definitely a new social and work experience that is revolutionizing our digital world, it is currently poorly understood and unframed. This is why the think tank Go4Metaverse was born. It aims not only to promote its many benefits, but also to explain social responsibility and ethical practices for Web3 and metaverse pioneers. Let’s discover the projects resulting from the Go4Metaverse initiative.

Why bet on the metaverse?

It is undeniable that the metaverse is becoming an exponentially growing market. According to a study by Gartner, 1 in 4 people will spend 1 hour per day in the metaverse by 2026. This growth is driven by technological advances such as virtual reality and augmented reality, which make the user experience more immersive.

In addition, the metaverse has many potential use cases, from professional training to augmented reality to video games. It can also be used to improve communication between people or for immersive experiences.

Furthermore, the metaverse is considered to be a key tool for tomorrow’s economy. It makes it possible to create new economic models, new business opportunities and new jobs.

What is Go4Metaverse?

Go4Metaverse, is a spontaneous collective initiative of Web3 companies and associations inspired by Chef Almir during his European tour in 2022 with the aim of raising awareness among political leaders about the ongoing deforestation of the Amazon.

The Go4Metaverse collective, based on the partnership between Chef Almir and Google Earth, wants to increase the visibility of this battle by making it genuine in the metaverse, making both developers and users of the metaverse aware of the human and environmental issues that the first peoples defended.

The first meeting in the metaverse with the Surui people took place on June 20, 2022 at WorkAdventure at the initiative of Nancy V. Gomez (Khepry88), Gaël Dupert de (Meta Year Book) and Emmanuel Moyrand (France Meta). Featured to the community at Metavers Summit and MetaDays. Go4Metaverse has since become a community and network of web3 ambassadors hosted and managed by Khepry88.

Isaure Courcenet will also deal with the topic of digital identity, as well as the challenge of peer-to-peer communication in the world of the future.

Why is it important to build a responsible and sustainable metaverse in France and in Europe?

France first and Europe second have a privileged position to build a relevant metaverse. It is necessary to have a unit to coordinate the efforts of all actors involved. Go4Metaverse is a key player in meeting this challenge.

However, we must not forget that technological innovation must be accompanied by ethical reflection to avoid the pitfalls that can accompany this revolution.

Ethical issues in the metaverse revolution

In addition to being an innovative tool, the metaverse must also be ethical. It is essential to protect users from abuse and virtual violence, to guarantee data confidentiality and to respect the rights of content creators.

By now committing to respect the standards of propriety, Go4Metaverse and its members are taking proactive action to build an ethical metaverse.

The Metaverse to Save the Amazon Rainforest

January 2023 marks a milestone for Go4Metaverse. In fact, the association will see its new project presented by Isaure Courcenet during the crypto summit taking place in parallel with the World Economic Forum in Davos. This gives the association’s ambassador the opportunity to highlight the AMAR program (Amazing Metaverse Amazon Rainforest), launched in 2022 by Go4Metaverse in collaboration with Chef Almir and Google Earth. This program aims to raise awareness among Metaverse developers and users about the human and environmental problems associated with the deforestation of the Amazon. It will be developed in collaboration with META REILA, Chef Almir’s association, and will offer training to young users of Metavers and games.

The right man to present the project is a woman. Isaure Courcenet is indeed a leader in blockchain, striving to accelerate the impact of decentralized technologies in a responsible and sustainable way. As an ambassador for the sector, it facilitates access to this new technological revolution. She is active in many events such as CES Las Vegas, Metaverse Summit Paris, Blockchain HEC.

Moral of the story: “Acting ethically now is key to building tomorrow’s responsible and sustainable metaverse.”
