Mainbot, creator of the first metaverse educational video game, The Winkyverse, and IMPS, worldwide licensee of the Smurfs, announce their partnership to take their first steps into the metaverse of The Winkyverse.
The Winkyverse is a welcoming and accessible universe that is aimed at all target groups, adults, children and families. Offering a wide variety of quests and gameplay that are as many opportunities to learn and proposing a world where humans and nature live in harmony, it sensitizes players to cooperation, acquisition of knowledge and protection of the environment.
It is developed with special attention to ethics in the metaverse. This ethic is illustrated by the use of a future blockchain as neutral as possible in terms of carbon impact, setting up an ethics committee to ensure the safety of the experiment and finally the creation of a fund to donate 2% of the profit to associations for the environment, education and children.
The Smurfs, little blue and endearing characters created by Peyo, will celebrate their 65th anniversary in 2023. Recognized for their edutainment values, the Smurfs’ stories convey joy, positivity, team spirit and ecological awareness. The Smurfs license is administered by IMPS, which since 1984 has rejected a host of derivative products.
The Smurfs entered the metaverse in 2020 and continue their ascension by becoming the first landowning partners in Pomokata, the first biome of the Winkyverse, the beginning of a playful, creative and responsible collaboration.
This post in The Winkyverse is made as part of a larger event, the first public sale of soil 22 November at 18:00 CET on winkyverse.io. The previous sale took place privately last September and was a huge success with 50% of the land sold in an hour. The purchase of land can this time be done in fiat (payment by bank card in traditional currencies such as euro and dollar) or in WNK tokens (the game’s virtual currency).
“The Smurfs embody the values of cooperation, mutual help, learning that we want to create with our gaming experience. The arrival of this globally recognized and valued brand is an important step in the development of The Winkyverse. Like the possibility of fiat payment, that aims to make more accessible, to democratize access to experiences in the metaverse,” says Boris Kesler, CEO of Mainbot.
“We are excited about this new partnership with The Winkyverse. We know that the Smurfs have a special relationship with children and therefore edutainment is very important to us. Learning while having fun in the metaverse isn’t Smurfing? commented Fabienne Gilles, Head of Consumer Products and Business Development at IMPS
