The Investments for Jobs facility has launched a call for project proposals in Ivory Coast, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Rwanda, Senegal and Tunisia
The Investments for Jobs facility invites companies and public entities to submit project proposals that contribute sustainably to job creation in the private sector. Grants vary from 1 million to 10 million euros per project. Project selection is based on a competitive application process and prioritizes high-quality, mature and ready-to-execute proposals. The facility will only finance projects that have a realistic chance of being completed, are economically viable and create a significant number of jobs.
On 21 November 2022, the Investment Facility for Jobs launched a call for proposals for regional projects covering Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Rwanda, Senegal and Tunisia. This call for proposals is not limited to particular themes or to specific sectors of activity.
Four types of investment projects can be proposed:
1. Non-commercial projects with an impact on job creation (not generating income): The facility covers up to 90% of investment costs.
2. Non-commercial projects with an impact on job creation (income generating): The facility covers up to 75% of investment costs.
3. Profit projects with a wider impact on job creation: The facility covers up to 35% of investment costs.
4. Profit projects with an impact on job creation: The facility covers up to 25% of the investment costs.
The grants offered range from 1 million to 10 million euros per year. project. This involves project co-financing with specific contributions from the applicants. The co-financed part is correlative to the chosen project.
Bidders have until 22 December 2022 at 17:00 (GMT+1; strict deadline) to submit their concept notes online. Interested entities and structures, whether public or private, may form a consortium to submit quality concept notes.

Online information sessions will be organized to explain the objectives of this fund, the submission process and the eligibility conditions. The Investment Facility for Jobs is an investment facility established by the KfW Development Bank within the framework of the special education and employment initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
