The next FBT (Future of Business Travel) will be held without a mask and face to face. After two remote editions, the flagship travel and technology event, created by, a media outlet under Eventiz Media Group*, returns for a seventh edition, more rooted than ever in the realities of business travel professionals.

With this year a new format: the event will take place over a whole day, from 8.30 to 18.00, and workshops led by experts will appear in the programme. More than 250 professionals are expected at the Rive Montparnasse square in Paris to find out more about the trends and technologies that will shape business travel in the next 6 to 36 months.

The Metaverse and its application to business travel

In particular, they will participate in the intervention of Matthieu Deboeuf-Rouchon (Innovation Manager France for Capgemini Engineering), the first of the day. The opportunity to take stock of the digitization of procurement and financing, accelerated by 5G, big data, artificial intelligence and many other new technologies. Which will have an impact on the purchasing and finance departments?

Later in the morning (at 11.10am), Julien Lechat, Client Partner Travel for Meta (ex-Facebook), will explain to the public how the metaverse is shaking up the codes of traditional travel and business travel, and the future impact on what can be imagined on the cube . The object of all imaginations for months, the Metaverse and its concrete applications in tourism will remain vague… until the Meta’s intervention, usually discreetly, at FBT 2022.

CSR at the center of the debates

In the afternoon, the more than strategic theme of corporate social and environmental responsibility (CSR) will be addressed by the speakers. While the level of demand from principals, investors and civil society continues to grow, legislation is becoming stronger. Controlling the social and environmental impacts of companies and their suppliers has become one of the keys to their performance and reputation. This will be explained by Pierre Mazeau (15.00), administrator of the Responsible Purchasing Observatory, trainer and consultant in CSR, who notably spent twenty years at the head of this service at EDF.

After this intervention, a round table meeting (15:20) will bring together Sandra Lévy (Group CEO of Metro France), Sarah Messaoui (Global Category Manager of TotalEnergies) and Noémie Bernard (Head of Sustainable Development Mission, Head of Performance Evaluation, Procurement, Finance and Real Estate in the Ministry of the Interior), who will explain how procurement departments measure and develop their company’s social commitment, while integrating environmental and social criteria into procurement is an issue that is increasingly understood and adopted… but that business travel professionals sometimes seem lost, when it comes to understanding them concretely.

New thematic workshops

Finally, Fabrice Bonnifet, sustainable development and quality, safety, environmental director of the Bouygues group and president of the College of Sustainable Development Directors (C3D), will demonstrate how the business travel industry can respond to the climate emergency, using the various reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change ( IPCC) while maintaining its productivity. Should the share of air travel decrease? Should the relevance of each turn evolve? What place should be given to new technological tools? Questions that interest everyone responsible for a company’s “Journey” strategy.

Between all these speeches, workshops will be offered around “co-construction of value” (animated by Antoine Delesalle (Sales Director AMEX GBT) and Julien Lacroux (Advisory Director Amex GBT); the effects of the development of the world of work on travel (led by Aude Jean, sales director Hcorpo, and Aurélien Rodriguez, pre-sales & distribution director Hcorpo); the importance of user adoption (led by Kevin Pech, account executive and Nikita Schaub, product marketing at TripActions); or “new mobility solutions adapted to employees” (by Benjamin Giovianni , sales manager Freenow for Business).
