The opportunity for the American giant to unveil other new products, especially wireless headphones and a connected watch, the first of the brand that, like Apple, wants to form a complete ecosystem as suggested by the slogan “It’s all connected”. However, Google is apparently not keen on the military secrecy that characterizes the announcements from the apple company, and between the official teasers released to maintain public interest and the countless leaks that have circulated on the Internet in recent days, we already know everything or almost on future smartphones. And for what we judge, this new generation does not seem to have anything revolutionary.

Google Pixel 7: a design that is a little refined

Google has released a short video of its future – and long-awaited – smartphone, the Pixel 7, which we can already admire from every angle. The Pixel 7 is very similar to its predecessor – whose design had been a radical change – but adds a few minor changes, such as a metallic glass strip at the level of the photo modules – its thickness does not seem to have decreased – in order to show them better forth. In the end, the Pixel 7 and Pro 7 only seem to differ in size and number of rear cameras – 2 on the Pixel 7 versus 3 for the Pixel 7 Pro. The video reveals three colors: Obsidian, Snow and Lemongrass for the Pixel 7 and Obsidian Hazel and Snow for the Pixel 7 Pro.

The Pixel 7 and 7 Pro will mark the arrival of the second Tensor processor (SoC) designed by Google in collaboration with Samsung. Using artificial intelligence (AI), the chip focuses on optimizing algorithms dedicated to image processing and photography and can optimize battery power consumption to extend smartphone battery life. The Pixel 7 will benefit from a 6.3-inch OLED screen – compared to 6.4 inches for the Pixel 6 – with Full HD + definition and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. As for the Pixel 7 Pro, it will have a 6.7-inch QHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Pixel 7 has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and the Pixel 7 Pro has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Both smartphones will be eligible for a 4,700mAh battery – compared to 4,614mAh on the Pixel 6 – and would still be compatible with 30W fast and wireless charging. Both will of course run Android 13. usual fingerprint sensor, the two smartphones will finally get an unlock mode via facial recognition. The phones will be IP68 certified, for resistance to dust and water – including accidental diving.

Google Pixel 7 Pro: slightly improved photo modules

Although they will not be officially presented until October 6, Google’s new smartphones no longer have many secrets to reveal, as they have been the subject of more leaks — the latest comes from a Taiwanese manufacturer who published the data sheet too hastily. Thus, we already know that the Pixel 7 will benefit from a 6.3 inch Oled screen – against 6.4 inches for the Pixel 6 – with a Full HD + definition and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. As for the Pixel 7 Pro, it will feature a 6.7-inch QHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. They will be equipped with a 50-megapixel Samsung Isocell GN1 main photo module – already found on the Pixel 6 – as well as an ultra-wide-angle Sony IMX381 of 12 megapixels and a front sensor of 10.8 – the previous model was 8 megapixels. As for the front camera, it’s an 11-megapixel Samsung 3J1 – enough to record in 4K, a definition previously reserved for Pro models. The Pixel 7 Pro will have a triple sensor, which normally adds a 48-megapixel Samsung Isocell GM 1 telephoto lens and a 5x telephoto lens – compared to 4x for the 6 Pro – and will mark the arrival of a “Motion Blur” mode and a ” Macro Focus” mode.

When the Pixel 7 Pro, it would appear at 899 euros. Note that the price of the smartphone at US also leaked on Amazon: $599.
