€500 reduction for this gaming laptop (Ryzen 5 6600H + RTX 3060)

Lenovo has today decided to significantly lower the prices of some of its best gaming-oriented laptops, such as the 15-inch Legion 5 Gen 7 under AMD, which goes from 1,599 euros to 1,099 euros on the brand’s official site.

AMD recently launched its new Ryzen 7000 series processors, which therefore enables laptops with older generation chips to drop significantly in price. This is the case today with the Lenovo Legion 5 Gen 7, a still very powerful laptop to start your entire library of PC games, which currently benefits from a significant reduction of 500 euros.

Lenovo Legion 5 Gen 7 Spec Sheet

  • 15.6-inch FHD display at 165 Hz (with Dolby Vision, FreeSync and G-Sync)
  • Ryzen 6600H + RTX 3060 + 16 GB RAM combination
  • A 512 GB SSD, M.2 form factor for PCIe Gen 4

Instead of a marked price of 1,599 euros, the Lenovo Legion 5 Gen 7 (15″ AMD) is now available for sale at 1,099 euros on the official website of the manufacturer, that is more than 30% instant discount for this gaming laptop.

An elegant and well-designed laptop

The Lenovo Legion 5 Gen 7 offers a very minimalistic design for a gaming-oriented laptop. The gray color is actually reminiscent of a MacBook (or any other ultrabook on the market) and offers straight lines without being extravagant. It still brings a bit of madness with its customizable white or RGB backlit keyboard with different colors on certain parts (optional). The trackpad is also very wide, but of course you want to take a mouse worthy of the name to play, right?

What we like about Lenovo’s gaming laptop is its build quality. In addition to being 15% thinner than the previous generation of the brand, heating is even better controlled than before, as the fans are 140% more powerful and the evacuation zones 45% wider, to maintain the best possible performance in Game. Despite a more compact format, the connection is still well provided with an Ethernet port, a USB-C port, an HDMI port and 3 USB-A ports. You can also count on the presence of Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. The weight, on the other hand, is quite high, as the scale shows 2.4 kg, but this is not surprising for a powerful gaming laptop.

Everything you need to play in good conditions

To play in good conditions, you need a solid configuration, and the Legion 5 Gen 7 does not lack with its AMD Ryzen 5 6600H processor clocked at 3.3 GHz (TurboBoost up to 4.5 GHz) and its Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 -graphics card with 6 GB of integrated RAM, not to mention the 16 GB of RAM in DDR5. With such a technical data sheet, you will simply be able to launch all the latest AAA games, even the most demanding ones like Cyberpunk 2077. Well, you will not be able to push all the parameters, but the game runs easily at more than 30 fps if you are not too greedy. In addition, the 512 GB SSD in PCIe Gen 4 compatible M.2 form factor offers extremely fast read/write speed, perfect for reducing loading times.

But to play in good conditions as mentioned above, you also need a screen worthy of the name. Lenovo is therefore not picky and equips its laptop with a Full HD IPS panel (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) with a maximum brightness of 300 nits and a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz. Other elements improve the visual quality, such as compatibility with Dolby Vision, or AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync. There’s even an anti-glare filter to protect your eyes during long sessions.
