Emirates News Agency – Global technology and metaverse community gathers to discuss and showcase the potential of a new immersive world

DUBAI, 25th September, 2022 (WAM) — The Dubai Metaverse Assembly will host the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council and chairman of DFF’s board, 28.-29. September at the Museum of the Future and AREA 2071. This regional event, the first of its kind, will host 300 global experts and more than 40 organizations specialized in metaverse applications and virtual worlds.

This flagship event, one of the largest special events in the region, will explore the digital economy and determine how governments, businesses and communities can harness the limitless potential of the metaverse to create a bolder future.

More than 30 local and international leaders, including researchers, designers, builders and metaverse specialists in virtual education, e-commerce, medicine, arts, games, events, NFTs and other digital assets, will speak at the two-day event. In addition, the event will host speakers from recognized global organizations such as Meta, Binance, Mastercard, The Sandbox, Bedu, PWC, Accenture, BCG Digital Ventures, Decentraland, Mastercard, among others.

The Minister of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications and Deputy Managing Director of the Dubai Future Foundation, Omar Sultan Al Olama, noted that the “Dubai Metaverse Assembly”, which is being held in Dubai this week, serves as a global platform that brings together technology experts and the metaverse – community from around the world to define the possibilities and exploit the potential of this promising virtual world.

He added: “This specialized event is a first for the region and a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge and ideas about the best solutions, projects and industries that can benefit from the enormous potential of the metaverse. Through this inaugural event, we let ourselves shine a light on the extraordinary potential of this immersive world to accelerate economic growth, drive innovation and create a fundamentally better future for humanity.”

Over 25 sessions, meetings and workshops will be held at the Museum of the Future and AREA 2071 at Emirates Towers during the Dubai Metaverse Assembly. They will cover a wide range of topics: from building a robust and scalable metaverse infrastructure, to creating strong, business-friendly regulation, to delivering public services in the digital world. The world’s metaverse experts will gather in Dubai to discuss what big tech and private companies need to do to grow a sector that could top $30 trillion in 15 years.
