Orange inaugurates the first 5G experiment and discovery space in Côte d’Ivoire

(ORANGE CÔTE D’IVOIRE) – Orange Côte d’Ivoire inaugurates its Orange 5G Lab, dedicated to companies, start-ups and digital professionals. This ceremony was held on Tuesday, September 20, at the Smart Store in Deux Plateaux (Cocody, Abidjan) in the presence of Mr. Amadou Coulibaly, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Government Spokesperson, Ms. Christel Heydemann, Director General of Orange. group; Mr Alioune Ndiaye Chairman of Orange Africa and the Middle East; Mr. Jérôme Hénique, Managing Director of Orange Africa and the Middle East, and Mr Mamadou Bamba, Managing Director of Orange Côte d’Ivoire.

While the deployment of the 5G network is announced for the year 2023 throughout the Ivorian territory, Orange Côte d’Ivoire anticipates by providing Ivorian companies a new collaboration space, fully equipped and dedicated to its concrete use. Orange 5G Lab Abidjan is a service and support offer for economic operators designed with expert partners such as Huawei, Nokia, Ericsson and ZTE. The Orange 5G Lab device, free and purpose-built, revolves around 2 axes:

  • Help economic operators discover the new uses enabled by 5G and how it can positively affect their operations.
  • Support, with our 5G experts, innovative companies that want to experience the potential of 5G for their product or service.

This site will host a space for demonstrations of 5G use cases from different sectors of activity, conferences, training sessions, co-working sessions, co-innovation and practical application sessions of 5G.
