Since the restrictions on travel linked to the health crisis were lifted, Air Algérie has faced a major challenge: improving its services and retaining its customers.
It is on social networks that Air Algérie has been criticized, even mocked, on several occasions. Many internet users have pointed to the national carrier’s repeated delays, the high cost of its tickets, as well as the condition of its planes and sometimes even the quality of the meals served on board its planes.
But other internet users are full of praise for Air Algérie. According to them, the tours offered by the national company are going pleasantly well. This is especially the case for a business class passenger who has just shared his experience on the specialist website Flight Report.
To improve its services, Air Algérie needed to help travelers at its hub, Algiers airport. According to this traveler who had booked an Air Algérie flight between Algiers and Paris, “arrival at the airport was quite smooth, despite a large number of travelers present”.
Algiers airport: everything to please
Once at the airport, the control is passed without too much waiting time. The traveler, with a business class ticket, states that “after passing through a security scanner, he was able to easily access Business Class check-in at the terminal level”. “There was no channel and it was perfect”, he clarifies, while noting that “Air Algérie has its own Business counters”.
The Air Algérie passenger, apparently seduced by Algiers Houari Boumediene airport, took several photos of the terminal, which he shared on the spot. It further indicates that “the terminal has more counters and more shops and restaurants for travelers and their companions”.
Regarding the passport control, the Air Algérie passenger indicates that the operation lasted only 10 minutes, “which is very correct for a queue that was very large”, he comments.
Air Algérie business class: hearty meal, tea and coffeee
The traveler finally boards and finds himself “in the Business Class cabin of 7T-VJC, a recent aircraft, acquired by Air Algérie in 2015,” he confides. According to this passenger, “the stewards were extraordinarily friendly, a very positive point for Air Algérie”.
More than satisfied with his business class cabin, the passenger admits that the seats are “very large, with a space worthy of a living room”. He adds “they have a headrest and a footrest, which is especially good for long trips”. Attaching photos to his comments, the traveler confirms that he “could stretch his two legs himself and not reach the opposite wall”.
The pleasant surprise comes at noon, lunchtime. “Air Algérie pleasantly surprised me with a dish worthy of its name. Rice with chicken, very hot, a sandwich with pastrami and cheese, a brownie with red fruits, all with 2 rolls and a portion of camembert and cheese. Other seasonings are present such as dijon mustard and butter. We had the choice between a drink or a juice with a bottle of water”, says the traveller.
Air Algérie: a comfortable flight
After this hearty meal, tradition calls for another drink to relax and digest well. “After finishing the full meal, the stewards pass by to serve coffee or tea, according to the travelers’ choice”, wonders the passenger, specifying that “economy had a similar dish”. The surprise is all the greater for this traveler because he knew that a fire had recently ravaged the Catering Center of Air Algérie.
After coffee and tea, it was time for this traveler to relax a bit. He therefore turned to In-Flight Entertainment, which he says was “more than good”. It indicates that “Air Algérie has recent movies, the ability to listen to music, watch TV programs and even charge its devices either with a USB plug or a wall plug”.
To end on a high note, the passenger confides that “the plane’s landing was quite gentle despite the strong disturbances and the rain”.
