1,400 new students, including almost 300 international students, join the Dijon and Lyon campuses.
Dijon, September 2022.
The start of the BSB admission was given on Monday 29 August after a summer 2022 which will remain a remarkable vintage in terms of recruitment: the school’s two main programs – Master Grande Ecole (MGE) and Bachelor – are thus completing the task by having increased their selectivity . 1,400 new students, including almost 300 international students, join the Dijon and Lyon campuses, with a very strong growth in the number of staff at the Rhone site (more than 800 students). The first weeks are particularly characterized by various integration and immersion systems in the world of the major management schools, such as the Innovation Sprint responsible innovation challenge, and by the introductory conferences, this year by the athletes Guillaume Gille and Raphaël Poulain.
Full of preparation!
Again this year the BCE competition was very successful with 255 students accepted for as many places on offer. BSB consolidates its 14e place in SIGEM – the ranking that gives an image of the choice of candidates from the preparatory classes, and therefore of the attractiveness of the schools for this public. BSB has seen an increase of 7 places in 10 years in this table. In addition, the selectivity is increasing with a gain of 120 places compared to 2021 regarding the rank of the last affected.
“These excellent results reflect the very positive dynamics of our school and confirm the relevance of BSB’s alternative model, whose historical positioning is centered on student support”, analyzes Stéphan Bourcieu, director of BSB. “We are also launching Pathfinder this autumn, a global and transversal system that will strengthen support for our students from their integration to their first job. »
“The market for preparatory classes is more and more tense: the competition is very tough, but we are satisfied to remain in the game and intend to become increasingly attractive to this audience. »
Still regarding MGE, 360 students are recruited via the Concours Passerelle, which corresponds to the targets. This extraordinary year in terms of recruitment is confirmed for the other programs and types of integration: more than 1,400 new students have come to the Dijon, Lyon and Paris campuses, including almost 300 from abroad.
On the undergraduate side, 190 students arrive in the first year in Dijon and 100 in Lyon, again in line with the targets. For its second start, the new BSB Lyon campus continues to grow and will welcome more than 800 students – an increase in enrollment of around 35%. The work-study program also continues to appeal, as 900 students will choose this modality this year.
Responsible innovation challenge
Especially on the back-to-school program, the fourth edition of Innovations Sprint BSB is offered to the 360 new pre-master’s students: For three days, four companies challenge them on societal themes by asking them to respond to concrete problems.
This year, TotalEnergies, Société Générale, La Poste Groupe and Lustucru Frais are the partners in the challenge, a privileged moment to get to know your new classmates, but also to stimulate your creativity and become aware of the research methods required in the Grande École.
Sports opening conferences
At the end of the challenge, the teams will present pitches of their proposals to a jury of companies, after which the winners will be awarded a prize on Wednesday, September 14, during the big school startup conferences.
In Dijon (16.30 at the Palais des Congrès in Dijon) it will be hosted by Guillaume Gille, Olympic handball champion and current coach of the French handball team. In Lyon (16:30 at the BSB Lyon Campus), it will be hosted by Raphaël Poulain, a former rugby player emblematic of Stade Français and now a lecturer.
