Africa, Ukraine and Costa Rica have drifted into the metaverse

Observers have mentioned that the metaverse will grow in size by $426.9 billion by the end of 2027, making it one of the most important places for companies and individual users trying to expand their reach. Incidentally, the same researchers and observers report that transactions will increase from 600,000 in 2022 to 9.8 million in 2027. Africa, Ukraine and Costa Rica have entered the metaverse.

Purpose of Metaverse in these countries

With Africarare, Africans, even those from the Central African Republic will have access to this new environment and will be able to flourish in terms of creative productivity. A computer company with Austrian roots recently purchased a 6×6 village in Ubuntuland to strengthen its presence and engage with other companies in this region of the metaverse to ensure strategy. To better understand Africa’s growing population, the World Data Lab intends to use this collaboration to promote awareness of important issues through online projects, such as creating a data science “metauniversity.” The UBUNTU token, based on the Ethereum blockchain and made available this year, will be used by Ubuntuland users as its currency.

As for Costa Rica, it will be the Aloki project initiated by Bartek Lechowski that will allow it to connect people with nature. Everything will be done through blockchain on a play-to-own basis, and the goal is to empower users to build a sustainable future for Costa Rica and the planet. The Aloki project would also plant nearly 10,000 trees in a tropical forest. In the case of Ukraine, the introduction to the metaverse aims to discover the significance of the country’s cultural heritage. The project is called Heritage Hub and this metaverse could also contribute to the development of digital tourism and in the long run this project will help the country recover from the war.

The goal of promoting adoption

Note that a survey conducted by the World Economic Forum found that half of adults in nearly 29 countries know about the metaverse. The same study also found that enthusiasm for Metaverse adoption is significantly higher in emerging countries than in most high-income countries. While less than a third in Japan, Great Britain, Belgium, Canada, France and Germany, more than two-thirds of residents in China, Peru, India, Saudi Arabia and Colombia give a positive view of augmented reality.

It is therefore believed that education is essential to promote adoption and make it accessible to sensitize Africans and the general public to the global community, introduce new technologies to local communities and open up opportunities for them. It was also pointed out that a Metaverse with a purpose will be necessary for progress, but changing daily routines alone will not be enough for it to gain widespread acceptance. Users of this technology must understand the benefits they will derive from it; for example, offering personal experiences will encourage adoption, because despite the metaverse’s limited ability to provide an accurate representation of reality, this project has the potential to democratize access to nature in the long term.
