The trailer was the latest in the long-awaited new chapter in the award-winning sci-fi strategy series. Homeworld 3 brings the series’ innovative 3D strategy gameplay into the modern age through cutting-edge graphics and technology that recreate the scale of battles in deep space while adding new layers of strategy to every moment.

Blackbird Interactive, the developer of the title, has been working on cinematic combat in the space series for 20 years.

Homeworld 3 utilizes the latest technology to add a new element to the series’ familiar 3D RTS gameplay, including cover-based tactics, massively strategic terrain, and a vast improvement to the overall UI design and gameplay.user experience.

Players must devise new strategies and use new environmental obstacles such as colossal ancient megaliths, dangerous asteroid fields and massive abandoned shipwrecks for cover or to hide enemy movements. The game also offers new strategic challenges with its physics-based ballistic simulation that makes space combat more real than ever.

“Our team has been working hard to create the Homeworld experience we’ve always dreamed of, and we hope that after seeing this trailer, fans will believe we’re making their games,” said Rob Cunningham, CEO of Blackbird Interactive and original art director on the first two games, in a statement. “Homeworld 3 will offer deeper strategy and decision making with easier control. Players will explore ancient megalithic structures and experience space in extraordinary detail while following an epic story worthy of the biggest sci-fi fans. We have a lot more to show off as well as fun surprises as we move towards launch in 2023.”

The campaign series took place long after the golden age of trade and galactic exploration was unlocked by Karan S’Jet following the discovery of an ancient network of hyperspace gates. A new threat to the galaxy known as the Anomaly has begun to spread its darkness and has begun to devour portals and planets. Now Imogen S’Jet, Karan’s successor, is the only one who holds the key to solving the mystery that threatens the future of the galaxy. In addition to the campaign, Homeworld 3 also offers a robust multiplayer experience, as well as the new cooperative roguelike mode, which combines strategic Homeworld gameplay with rogue-like challenge and progression.

Additionally, Homeworld Mobile, developed by Gearbox Publishing and Stratosphere Games, tells a unique story set in the Homeworld universe and launches on the App Store for iPhone and iPad and Google Play for Android devices this fall.
