Oppo unveils the new version of its internal interface, ColorOS 13. It is intended to animate the brand’s next smartphones and appears in the form of an update, together with Android 13, on its already available terminals, it brings some new features both in appearance and functionality. The smartphones that premiere will logically be those that were able to benefit from a beta launched a few days ago: Find X5 Pro, Find X5 and Find X5 Lite, but also, in China , Find N.

Oppo naturally puts design in the spotlight and evokes a design “aquamorph”. A very big word that denotes the use of an intense blue in its interface, especially for its quick settings. The manufacturer also chooses bold colors adapted to all its icons to make reading easier, he says.

We may retain a more improved management of applications that Android 13 offers, with folders in the form of cards whose contents are more readable. Also note a “Shelf” panel with widgets dedicated to weather, calendar information and other services to configure. All of this is reminiscent of what OnePlus’ OxygenOS offers. Another novelty can be found in the quick settings (changing) “cards” dedicated to services such as Spotify, to more easily manage music listening.

Color OS 13

More connectivity options

ColorOS 13 includes various features dedicated to connectivity. Like what a growing number of manufacturers offer, starting with Huawei, Honor or Samsung, there is at least a function to share content with PCs running Windows 10. Oppo promises the ability to display a window dedicated to smartphone content (mirroring), and two others for applications of your choice. A function for wireless content sharing from smartphone to PC is also on the menu. Oppo finally announces the fast connection with computers under ChromeOS, especially to cast SMS from Google Messages.

Color OS 13

Emphasis on privacy

Some features are dedicated to privacy protection. Quite interestingly, “Auto-Pixelate” allows you to blur (pixelate) the name and avatar of your correspondent if you take a screenshot of a written exchange in Messenger and WhatsApp. Oppo also promises the integration of Android 13 settings related to privacy, such as automatic deletion of unused clipboard content.

Color OS 13

More or less gadget features

Let’s finish this overview with sometimes useful, sometimes accessory features. The children’s area thus automatically activates the “eye comfort” mode, which limits the emission of blue light; it uses the smartphone’s sensors to remind toddlers to stand in a correct posture or hold the smartphone at a reasonable distance from the face.
