Backpack Hero (Early Access)

When we tell you that indie games have more than one trick up their sleeve, it’s for nothing! Come here Backpack Heroa “inventory management rogue-lite” – as stated on the project’s Steam page. Here, your power will not only be determined by the things you carry, but more importantly, how they are organized. In particular, in a gameplay trailer we can see the hero – a very cute mouse – chaining three dagger throws, to the extent that these are carefully arranged next to each other. Backpack Hero also has an exploration aspect through dungeons, caves and swamps. In the future (it’s an early access release) there will even be a system to improve your city.

So this game, we didn’t see it coming at all. Some time ago, the Roll7 studio – behind the Olli Olli skate license – announced Rollerdrome, a third-person action game that mixes the joy of sliding and of shooting enemies. Yeah yeah, here it’s a matter of rollerblading in arenas while facing the bad guy. And it promises to be solid. “Rollerdrome is currently a treat in terms of sensations” we wrote during our preview. “With its comfortable grip, well-balanced levels, the roller shooter is a call for perfect dodging and piercing shooting”. It all takes place in 2030, at a time when excessive and common violence has made people addicted to this new sport. Hurry up to play it.

Cursed for Golf

We continue with another game that is original – after all, that’s what we like. Let us introduce you to Cursed to Golf, a game that mixes Tiger Woods’ favorite discipline with rogue-lite, just that. Here you play as the “Cursed Golfer”, cut down by death just before making the last winning move of his career. Fortunately (if we may say so) you will be able to find life in arrives at the end of “Gulfic Purgatory”. Suffice it to say, it won’t be cake. Because there are not only bunkers or difficult obstacles in the beyond, but also traps of all kinds, fans, spikes and even teleporters. Somehow, it will be necessary to grab the victory by succeeding in the holes in a certain number of moves.

A project reminiscent of a certain “The Plucky Squire”. Here it is a question of living one beautiful adventure through Kenta’s notebook – who drew a whole universe there. All his creations will thus come to life, be it pencil decorations, structures made of cardboard, with several playstyles as a bonus. We find turn-based combat, of course, but also action-adventure and bullet hell (dodge a whole lot of projectiles). On the project’s Steam page, we can read that RPG Time has received a whole bunch of awards around the world. good sign!

Thymesia

In a completely different genre, we now present Thymesia: a promising Souls-like that might get you back on track for the incredible Elden Ring. Because here it is also a question of demanding matches and action, which is played out to the nearest centimeter! You play as Corvus – a raven-masked hero who has the power toabsorb enemy forces to turn them against them. Very handy to get rid of the many evil spells waiting. “Corvus is the kingdom’s last hope (…) The truth lies deep in the memories Corvus spreads across this unforgiving world – only by bringing them all together can he save the kingdom” the page tells us. Steam. We hope for a nice surprise.

We are OFK

We end with a storytelling experience that won’t leave you indifferent, We Are OFK. It’s about discovering behind the scenes of virtual group formation of the same name: “a story of dreams, loves and rent payments in Los Angeles”. It’s an interactive series that – like the Telltale games – comes out at regular intervals, one episode a week with a new song from the group each time. The whole thing is also accompanied by a nice artistic direction and a dubbing work that promises to convince. All in all – we could have a very nice story. Get ready, We Are OK is about to land.
