A journalist has his 2 mobile phones stolen and buys them back for 27,000 francs from his thieves

In Adjamé municipality, mobile phone thieves are highly organised. Brother MT knows something about this. He paid the price for this gang of organized thieves, very early in the morning on Friday, July 29, 2022 in this city. He had his two cell phones stolen and bought them back later, for 27,000 CFA francs, from his thieves. Unbelievable, but true.

He decides from the station to go to borrow a vehicle to return home

He explains that after arriving from a long and exhausting journey on Friday, July 29, 2022 at around 7 o’clock, he decided from the station to go to borrow a vehicle to return home. But on the way, a sinister-looking person accosted him and grabbed him forcefully, indicating another station.

“I tell him I’ve just arrived but the guy bullies me and furiously I pull over to warn him. A few minutes later I realize I no longer have a phone. I realized I had just been ‘ ‘debalou” (stolen) my two phones. It’s bullshit,” he says.

The journalist is very upset about the pickpocket and decides to do his own investigations to find his cell phones. In this company he explains his misfortunes to a police officer. The policeman’s answer confuses him. “Ah my brother, there are many of them here, huh. But if you recognize him, let us know. Otherwise, they went to a smokehouse to sell,” the victim reports.

But MT, not wanting to give up, decided to look for his cell phones. And there he puts himself in the place of ”nouchis”, these people with foul language who only solve their problem through violence. Sitting at the station where he was subjected to the theft, he quietly observes all the movements and realizes that several people easily get their cell phones stolen just like him.

He cheerfully gets up, follows the thieves and questions 3 of them in a language of the Nouchi community. But the latter let him know that they are not the perpetrators of the theft of his phones and that it is a different group.

Taking courage in both hands, he explains to them that he wants his two phones here and now and that everything could work out if they were cooperative.

Forget it ! In his wanderings in search of his phones, he comes across a group of young people on signs of goodwill. Taking courage in both hands, he explains to them that he wants his two phones here and now, and that everything could work out if they cooperated.

In return, they declare to the colleague that they are not the perpetrators of the theft. Nevertheless, they decide to help him find his devices. They call here and there, and after a few minutes they come to explain to MT that they found his cell phones by the fence, but that he had to pay 35,000 CFA francs.

Stuck, he gives the sum of 27,000 CFA francs to the band of thieves. “Pagans”, the latter decides to add 5,000 francs to this sum (32,000 francs in all) to give it to the recipient.

In no time, the thieves return with the 2 devices, but they have already had time to format one. One of the young thieves asks the journalist if he has money to go home. He answers in the negative. “Lovely” like an angel, the thief gives him the sum of 1000 francs so he can go home.

After getting his chips back, poor MT was able to go home around
