Quickly delete these apps on your phone, they can ruin your bank account!

Think your phone is safe from viruses? That you fear nothing? Think again. Some applications actually enjoy taking your money or installing malicious software. We check in with you to help you get rid of it for good.

Applications infected with Joker malware!

We know more thanks to cybersecurity company Padreo. She decided to investigate. It turned out to be very successful. In fact, the company has discovered that four applications available on the Google Play Store are infected with Joker software. However, the latter steals users’ private information, but also their money. We’re talking about 100,000 people here, as this is the number of recorded downloads.

But how can an application, admittedly contaminated by software, steal money from users? It’s quite simple. By creating hidden subscriptions that take money. The problem is that since these subscriptions are hidden, the subscriber only realizes this after the first transfer is made.. And we are not talking about small subscriptions for less than ten euros. Often it is better to deduct 50 euros. Thanks to the malware, apps can also take silent screenshots. They thus have access to private passwords.

That’s not all. Joker also allows other applications to be installed on the phone, but in the background. You don’t understand anything. However, they are often infected by other, more powerful software. These software send scam offers directly to the phone.

How to avoid downloading the affected applications?

Fortunately, there are a few ways to avoid being scammed. Because for all the people who have a phone but do not have the necessary knowledge, it is very difficult not to be cheated. We therefore recommend first of all to consult the developer’s profile in the Play Store. If you only see one app, watch out. In fact, developers who have a (bad) idea in mind generally create one application per account.

Don’t forget to read the privacy policy. The shorter it is, the riskier it is. We simply advise you to trust known applications or reputable and reliable websites. It’s the best way not to get scammed. When you download an app, it also asks for your permission for various accesses. Do not hesitate to decline if you discover that an application has nothing to do with e.g. your microphone to do. Then why is she asking you for access? Beware!

How to remove a virus from your phone?

Android devices are particularly vulnerable. This is why it is advisable to have antivirus software first. This is the surest way to be sure. But what if you notice a virus on your phone? First, restart the phone in safe mode. Then open Settings and browse the list of recently installed apps. Why ? Noticing suspicious activity. Uninstall any software you think is questionable. Finally, enable Play Protect from Google. Scan your phone as often as possible. Today they all offer in-house software that cleans phones.

You know now. To best protect your phone, only download apps that are verified. Be aware of the permissions you grant when you install them. Reject without hesitation those who seem strange to you. If you receive spam messages, never click on the links sent. Delete them automatically. Finally, do system updates when they are available. New systems correct errors and improve security. Always have the latest version.

Thanks to these various tips, you put all the chances on your side to be safe. It would be stupid to see his bank account empty because of a simple application on his phone, don’t you think? So be careful!
