The Missegle workshopflagship in the Tarn industry, specializing in the production of natural fiber clothing a inaugurated Wednesday, July 20, 2022, “M l’école”,” a space dedicated to training to integrate new recruits and professionalize existing employees, Missegle reveals on his website.
This training room is directly located next to the Missegle workshop, inaugurated in September 2021 in Burlats.
16 future new employees
The Missegle company, a true symbol of the preservation of French know-how for more than a decade, has initiated a transmission project for future generations “The ambition of this new structure will be to work to prevent the disappearance of know-how and its transfer. ” says the company.
“We are now one approved educational organization. We are only at the beginning, but everything is now possible,” explains Myriam Joly, director of Atelier Missegle.
Since 15 March 2022, the workshop has welcomed 16 seamstresses, including two machine seamstresses – respectively on a hosiery machine and a 3D machine – in training for six months. Among the 16 apprentices, nine are former job seekers.
The Innov’emploi approach
This training is part of Innov’emploi approach to the Occitanie regionthe system covers the costs of training and sets a minimum employment rateon a six-month CDD or CDI, of 70% of apprentices. “But we hope for more than that! The idea is that they integrate all the workshops. Eventually, the new seamstresses will join the 34 currently on post to represent a third of the workforce,” says Myriam Joly.
A significant increase in staffwhich aims to respond on the one hand to the 50% increase in activity in 2 years and on the other hand to the future retirements of five seamstresses.
Pride in training and passing on
“It’s been on our minds for a while now (opening a school, editor’s note), as we’ve already been training internally for years. Opening the school makes it possible to formalize things, to communicate and to promote, since five seamstresses have obtained the training certificate and take care of the 16 seamstresses, in collaboration with the French Institute of Textiles and Clothing (IFTH), which takes care of a part of the training. »
They will be able to retire having passed on all their know-how knowing that the legacy is secured, that their know-how and their work will not be lost.
For Myriam Joly, thetraining certificate obtained by five employees at the end of their career, is a source of satisfaction and pride,” it is above all rewarding for them. They will be able to retire having passed on all their know-how knowing that the legacy is secured, that their know-how and their work will not be lost. It is also rewarding as before they retire they gain the qualification as coaches, which is financially rewarding. We want to give people from our region the opportunity to broadcast before they retire. »
“It really makes sense to create a school today for us. It is a way to confirm that we train our employees and to confirm that devalued manual trades can train and transfer know-how. My goal is to revive the desire to work in workshops, to show that it is useful and that you are not a slave when you work, but that you participate in the life of the city, that you can thrive at work. It’s politics somewhere,” reveals Myriam Joly.
Upcoming training sessions
In addition to training 16 future employees, The M school offers its first cross-company training next September. This is training in mohair sorting, intended for goat breeders who want to add value to their wool production.
Other trainings inter-company is under investigation “We are considering offering training to help our suppliers train the next generation on their breeding farms. We also have very specific requests from people who want to learn to knit, e.g. Things are done according to new possibilities and needs. »
