Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 reveals a little more at Comic-Con

Fans of the franchise all know it’s been a long wait to get to this moment. But it’s not over, as we have to wait beginning of May 2023 to see the final film of the saga in the cinema; either therefore 3 years after the originally planned release dateand 6 years after volume 2. A delay that was notably the consequence of the dismissal – and then return – of James Gunn by Disney after a pro-Trump rival had revealed old Tweets with questionable dark humor.

But let the fans rest assured; still in post production, GoG volume 3 will see the light of day and take advantage of Comic-Con to reveal himself and say a little more about him.

General surprise; while Gunn had formalized the previous logo Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 several months ago, Comic-Con fans and spectators discovered with astonishment during the night, the – this time very official – logo for the next film:

Rather bling-bling, the logo could say much more than it lets on, as it can allude to Adam Warlock and her golden skin, than to the people of Kingsthis race of “perfect beings”, determined to get revenge on the Guardians, and whose arc had already been presented in Volume 2. However, it is certain that Adam will be present in the 3rd opus of the saga, embodied by Will Poulter, and teased in one of the post-credit scenes by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2

Official and never-before-seen images of Hall H at Comic-Con have been revealed Guardians of the Galaxy 3who knew how to move everyone when the director reminded that it will be the last film with the current team:

“I think it was really about telling a story between the three films with some side adventures. But I think it’s really just one story. This is the last arc that we started at the very beginning of Guardians of the Galaxy, with Peter Quill, with Rocket, to see where Nebula goes, and even Kraglin who started by saying a line or two in it first film and is now a primary Guardian of the Galaxy. »James Gunn – Comic Con 2022 on the occasion of the presentation of GoG Vol 3

James Gunn also mentioned the (many) topics that will be covered in the next film, including the search for Gamora since her disappearance in Avengers: Infinity Warthe introduction of Adam Warlock, but also the return to the past and Rocket’s origin:

When I started making Guardians of the Galaxy, I was like, I don’t know, this sounds kind of silly. I thought it would be Bugs Bunny joining the Avengers,” Gunn continued. “But then I thought, if there was a talking raccoon, how real is he? Where is he from? I realized he was the saddest creature in the universe, and that’s what this story is very much about. »James Gunn – Comic Con 2022 on the occasion of the presentation of GoG Vol 3

Official images of the next episode have thus been revealed, including a scene showing a frightened young raccoon in a cage, confirming one of the plots mentioned by the director above.

A lot of information in perspective therefore for this session of Comic-Con devoted to Guardians of the Galaxy. Besides, we wonder how James Gunn managed to create a plausible story in GoG Vol 3 with so many plot lines to resolve.

One thing is certain, it is that the last part of this team will stay “A Masterpiece” as Chris Pratt said after reading the script. All that remains is to wait (again) until May 2023, which will surely mark the end of this 6-year wait.

Until then, fans of the intergalactic team will be able to take their problems with patience and help themselves wait for the miniseries “I’m Groot (August 10 on Disney+), Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special (mid-December on Disney+), as well as with the excellent game Marvel’s Guardians of The Galaxy by Eidos Montreal and its magnificent script, which, by the way, sets the bar very high and has something to give James Gunn a hard time.
