Realme equips its GT 2 with an Explorer Master Edition equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1

Realme maintains a hectic messaging pace. Following models like the GT Neo 3, GT Neo 3T or even Narzo, the Chinese company presents in its home market a variation of its 2022 flagships: the GT 2 Explorer Master Edition. A version of Realme GT 2, or even GT 2 Pro, with a revised design and corrected for the apartment and with revised technical features.

Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 becomes more democratic

The GT 2 Explorer Master Edition is slightly larger than the GT 2, and it still has an OLED screen (1080 x 2400 pixels), but 6.7 inches instead of 6.62 inches with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Advanced, the smartphone Snapdragon 888 of GT 2 is exchanging for a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, which is starting to appear on an increasing number of terminals and is intended to be less energy consuming than Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The advanced SoC is flanked by 8 to 12 GB RAM (LPDDR5X). Realme intends to turn its smartphone into a gifted model for gaming; for this purpose, the manufacturer indicates that it is “with HyperTouch virtual triggers, with tactile feedback and light effects on the side of the phone” and a double steam chamber to keep it cool during play.

In the radius of the changes, we also notice that the rear photo unit, which retains its main module (wide angle) of 50 megapixels, now benefits from an ultra wide angle module with definition increased to 50 megapixels as well, on Like the GT 2 Pro. A 2 Mpx sensor, equipped with macro optics, always brings up the rear end.

On the battery side, the smartphone finally retains a capacity of 5000 mAh, but gets fast charging at 100 W, against 64 W for GT 2. These elements are located in a smartphone of 161.3 x 74.3 x 8.2 mm (compared to 162 , 9 x 75.8 x 8.6 mm for GT 2) on the back inspired by “travel suitcases”which probably justifies its Explorer stamp.

A European publication must be confirmed

So far, the Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition, marketed from 3499 yuan in China (approximately € 520 excluding taxes), has not been announced outside the Middle Kingdom. The brand has nevertheless marketed its previous Master versions in Europe, and it is a sure bet that this GT 2 Explorer Master Edition will be no exception to the rule, especially since its technical data sheet, intriguing on paper, would make it an interesting device for users looking for powerful smartphones.
