A new salvo of fixes was implemented last night on WoW. These are the druids, the demon hunters, the wizards, the encounter with Halondrus at the founders’ grave, Necrotic Wake and several classes in PvP. Find all the details below.

June 24, 2022

Classes

  • Druid
    • Guardian
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Damage to mutilation and auto attacks increased by 10%.
        • Developer Note: Vengeance Demon Hunters and Guardian Druids lag behind in terms of damage, especially when targeting individually. Our goal with these changes is to improve their single target performance without affecting AoE environments.
  • demon hunter
    • Revenge
      • [Avec le redémarrage] All injuries and healing abilities increase by 3%.
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Fracture and slash injuries increased by 20%.
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Auto-attack damage increased by 10%.
        • Developer Note: Vengeance Demon Hunters and Guardian Druids lag behind in terms of damage, especially when targeting individually. Our goal with these changes is to improve their single target performance without affecting AoE environments.
  • Warlock
    • Suffering
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Damage to all abilities increased by 5%.
        • Developer’s note: We see Affliction a little behind in different content and feel that there is a need for a damage boost.
    • Destruction
      • [Avec le redémarrage] 4P Bonus: Blasphemy no longer gives Rain of Chaos.
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Chaos bolt damage increased by 5% in PvE.
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Burns increased by 20%.
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Immolate damage increased by 20%.
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Fire damage increased by 10% in PvE.
        • Developer Note: To resolve issues with excess Soul Shards generated from Destruction, we remove Blasphemy’s ability to provide Rain of Chaos. This will prevent shard generation from getting out of control and slowing down AoEs. However, this will have some effects on Destruction’s single target damage, and to help counteract the impact, we increase the damage by multiple single target forms. This is a big change and we will monitor feedback carefully and adjust further if necessary.

Dungeons and Raids

  • The Tomb of the Founders
    • Halondrus
      • Fixed an issue where players were unable to pick up Earthshatter Charges immediately after the effects of Healing Cocoon (Dreamweaver Soulbind).
  • Necrotic Wake
    • Fixed an issue where Destruction Warlock’s Rain of Fire did not trigger Rain of Chaos or Blasphemy when fighting in Necropolis.

Player against player

  • Developer Note: We have tracked PvP balancing in season 3 and are making the following adjustments. We will continue to follow how the rest of the PvP season progresses.
  • Druid
    • Balance
      • 2P Bonus: Fixed an issue where Celestial Pillar broke camouflage.
  • Hunter
    • [Avec le redémarrage] Coward’s Stratagem (Legendary Power) now reduces the cooling of Feign Death by 5 seconds in PvP (down from 15 seconds).
      • Developer Note: Feign Death’s brief cooling down via Coward’s Stratagem can be frustrating to contend with, especially for classes whose primary damage comes from damage over time. We are changing Coward’s Stratagem cooling reduction to address this.
  • magician
    • [Avec le redémarrage] Time stream (medium) efficiency reduced by 50% in PvP.
    • [Avec le redémarrage] Netherwind Armor (PvP Talent) now reduces critical hit chances by 10% (down from 15%).
      • Developer’s note: Mage’s survival ability continued to be higher than we would have liked, so we are targeting some of his defensive tools to address this, while keeping Mage’s gameplay intact.
  • Monk
    • Mistweaver
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Renewing Mist now heals for another 25% in PvP (up from 10%).
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Enveloping Mist now heals for another 10% in PvP.
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Chrysalis (PvP Talent) now reduces the cooling of Cocoon of Life by 45 seconds (every 30 seconds).
        • Developer’s note: Mistweaver continues to have difficulty responding reliably to damage outbreaks. Increasing the healing effects over time and having Cocoon available more often aims to give them better tools to respond to outbreaks more reliably.
  • Paladin
    • Retribution
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Templar’s Vindication (Medium) now causes Templar’s Verdict to inflict 15% increased damage (up from 30%) in PvP.
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Avenger’s Shield damage reduced by 40% in PvP. Absorption amount unchanged.
        • Developer’s note: Retribution Paladins’ outbreak rate was scaled higher than we would have liked, exceeding survivability and counters. We seek to correct some of the most effective moments without affecting their overall tools.
  • Priest
    • Holy
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Mana regeneration reduced by 65% in PvP (down from 60%).
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Holy Word: Chastise now stuns enemy players for 3 seconds (every 4 seconds).
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Blame (Talent) now causes Holy Word: Chastise to stun enemy players for 3 seconds (every 4 seconds).
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Glimmer of Hope (PvP Talent) cooling down is now 90 seconds (every 60 seconds).
        • Developer Note: Priests outcompete other healers, and we seek to reduce the strength of typically selected talents and mana efficiency to better fit in with the representation and performance of other specifications.
    • Shade
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Shadow Word: Pain damage increased by 15% in PvP.
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Vampiric Touch damage increased by 10% in PvP.
        • Developer Note: Shadow Priests have not received as much of a benefit through Set Bonus as other PvP specs, so we’re increasing parts of their constant damage to help their overall performance.
  • Thief
    • outlaw
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Float like a Butterfly (PvP Talent) now reduces the cooling of Evade and Feint by 0.5 seconds per. used combination point (every 1 second).
        • Developer’s note: The availability of Outlaw’s defensive abilities has been a point of frustration due to the lack of ability for enemies to exploit defensive cooling holes. This change is intended to correct it while keeping the Outlaw intact.
  • Warlock
    • [Avec le redémarrage] Dark Pact (Talent) now provides an absorbing shield of 300% life sacrificed in PvP (down from 250%).
    • [Avec le redémarrage] Drain Essence (PvP Talent) now has the goal of giving 9% less damage to Warlock per. stack.
    • [Avec le redémarrage] Drain Essence (PvP Talent) now stacks up to 4 times (down from 5).
    • [Avec le redémarrage] Gate Mastery (PvP Talent) now reduces the time between how often players can download your Demon Gate by 30 seconds (down from 15 seconds).
    • Suffering
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Soul Suck now provides an absorbing shield for 12% of the damage in PvP (was 8%).
        • Developer Note: In 9.2.5, we removed the Demon Armor PvP talent and changed the Gladiators Resounding Resolve to no longer interact with interrupt effects, affecting Affliction Warlocks, their spells coming from one school. With the combination of these changes, Affliction Warlocks’ defenses have been lower than we would have liked, even after the endurance boost, so we’re equipping them with better PvP survival tools.
  • Warrior
    • [Avec le redémarrage] Mastery amount given by Conqueror’s Banner (Necrolord Ability) reduced by 33% in PvP.
    • Rage
      • [Avec le redémarrage] Crushing Blow (Raging Blow via Reckless Spirit (Talent)) now deals 20% less damage in PvP.
        • Developer’s note: The Fury damage was scaled higher than we’d like in season 3, especially with their fixed bonuses. We want to reduce some of those moments of volatility while still keeping the constant high damage that matches the idea of Fury Warrior.
