Chris Pratt jokingly says that Taika Waititi put James Gunn in a corner Thor: Love and Thunderspace goats. Since its inception with Marvel Studios Iron Man, Marvel Cinematic Universe has never failed to entertain fans by getting characters from different franchises to interact. One of the most memorable meetings took place Avengers: Infinity War when the Guardians of the Galaxy intercepted an Asgardian distress signal and intercepted the God of Thunder.
With a little help from Gunn and Taika Waititi, directors Joe and Anthony Russo were able to make Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Pratt’s Peter Quill / Star-Lord and the other Guardians a comic hit of both. Infinity War and End the game. This last film ends with Thor deciding to be “who he is instead of who he should be‘, meaning hitchhiking aboard Benatar with’ Asgardians of the Galaxy. Ahead of Gunn’s third installment in his MCU franchise, the Guardians return in Waititis’ long-awaited sequel to Thor: Ragnarok, Love and Thunder – which Gunn consulted on for MCU continuity reasons. Now it has apparently been revealed that a few Asgardian characters will also appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Specialwhich is confirmed to take place after love and thunder and before Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
In an interview at the premiere of Thor: Love and Thunder (Going through wonder entertainment), Pratt was asked about Thor’s goats in the film. The actor revealed that Gunn should also include them in his upcoming Guardians project for the sake of continuity. Read what he had to say below:
[Waititi] I just wanted to keep James with goats. James must continue where Taika left off, and he put space goats on us. “
Typical [MCU directors don’t stick each other with stuff in the background], but I’m guessing that Taika somehow plays by his own set of rules … you’ll see that he did a few things that I think were kind of a joke to play on James. It’s such an improvisational world where you see what you can roll with.
love and thunder advertising material shows a Viking ship being towed by Thor’s goats, Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr. The couple originated in comics and Norse mythology, where they pulled Thor’s chariot up into the sky. Although Pratt does not specifically mention Diseny + Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, that’s more than likely what he’s talking about, given the MCU’s timeline. Gunn teased that the thesis will feature some surprising MCU characters, and it’s not hard to imagine Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr pulling Santa’s sleigh. Trailers Driller Guardians will not show up until early Love and Thunder. However, the presumed inclusion of Thor’s goats in the coming guardians of the galaxy The project involves them somehow getting stuck with them after the fight with Gorr the Butcher God.
Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr were actually introduced to Marvel Studios for the first time Thor movies, but was considered too weird in 2009. However, that was before Gunn revolutionized the MCU with his tough team of misfittings, and Waititi somehow made Thor one of the funniest characters ever. Irreverent writers / directors were almost born to collaborate, with Waititi performing in The suicide group and Gunn has to use screaming “space goats” after Thor: love and thunder coming to the cinema on July 8th.
