Design and display
Samsung Galaxy M53 has a glass front, a plastic back and an aluminum frame. Although the phone has the same style as the Galaxy M33 5G, it has a whole new design compared to its predecessor. The rear panel has a square camera panel, under which there is an LED flash. There is a fingerprint sensor on the side of the phone which is not quite expected of a phone in this price range.
Although it has a large battery, the Samsung Galaxy M53 is only 7.40 mm thick and weighs only 176 grams. The phone is available in three color options: green, blue and brown.

In front is a centered hollow Super AMOLED Plus screen with a resolution of 1080 * 2408 pixels and a density of 394 PPI. The monitor also supports a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 240 Hz touch sampling rate. This allows for more precise touch and smooth scrolling of content on the phone. The screen also has Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Basically, it is the exact same screen as its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy M52.
Camera

The Samsung Galaxy M53 has a quad camera setup on the back with a single selfie shooter on the front. The phone has a 108 MP camera sensor on the back, which is accompanied by an 8MP, 123-degree ultra-wide sensor and a pair of 2MP depth and macro sensors. An upgraded camera sensor would have been much appreciated instead of the phone’s 2MP sensors.
On the front, it houses a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor, and Samsung’s camera performance has always been top notch.

The front and rear camera can record video in 4K resolution at 30 fps. The rear camera has autofocus and also has a 10x digital zoom function, but it is not the same with the front camera. The user can also enjoy slow motion videos in HD at 240 fps.
Performance and storage

Samsung Galaxy M53 runs on One UI 4.1 based on Android 12. The phone is powered by the new MediaTek Dimension 900 (6nm) chipset, while graphics tasks are handled by the Mali-G68 MC4. It is a fast mid-range chipset with an integrated 5G modem. The phone also has a steam cooling chamber so that the user can enjoy a longer game session or long video calls without worrying about the phone getting hot.

For storage, the phone comes with either 128 GB or 256 GB of internal storage along with 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM. The memory can be expanded to 1 TB using a microSD card, but you will have to sacrifice one of your SIM cards to do so as there is no dedicated card space. Samsung Galaxy M53 also has a RAM expansion feature which helps the phone to improve its performance.
Battery life, connectivity and more

Samsung Galaxy M53 has a large 5000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery that supports 25W fast charging. This stream can support up to 17 hours of LTE internet usage time and Wifi, up to 19 hours of video playback time, 87 hours of audio playback time and up to 32 hours of 4G talk time.
The phone has two sims with the support of a 5G network. It also supports dual-band Wi-Fi and is NFC enabled. For wireless pairing with other devices, the phone has a Bluetooth 5.2 connection, while using a USB Type-C 2.0 cable for charging and wired pairing. There is no 3.5 mm headphone jack on the phone and there is no stereo support on its speakers. However, the phone supports Dolby Atmos sound when stereo headsets and Bluetooth speakers are connected to the phone.
