Most of the Summer Game Fest conferences are over, and now it’s time to look back and make a first point about the games we’re waiting for, which we’d like to see, but unfortunately did not deserve. to point to the tip. of their noses.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2
Despite an initial gameplay sequence unveiled at the 2021 Game Awards, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 has remained far too discreet for our liking since it was announced in 2019, and it would have greatly benefited from being a part of by Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase. Aside from the fact that its captivating plastic and its heroine still suffer from auditory hallucinations, we actually do not know much more about the next title on Ninja Theory, which could also be a little more action-oriented than its predecessor. Unfortunately, you have to be a little patient to get to the bottom …
Currently, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is scheduled for PC and Xbox Series X | S on an unknown release date, but will be directly available in Game Pass.
Like Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, the next fable remains as mysterious as ever. After three canonical episodes developed by Lionhead, it is now Playground Games, the studio behind Forza Horizon, that is leading the design of this new opus. That’s just about all we know about the game, lately more subject to rumors than real information. These gaits thus evoke an open-world structure that offers a larger playing field than in the first two episodes, an important multiplayer component, the absence of firearms, but also the ability to be able to play in sight of the first and third person and create cities . We therefore hope to learn more about this ultra-expected title very soon.
Despite the lack of crisp information, Fable is still planned for PC and Xbox Series X | S and will integrate Game Pass as soon as it is released.
Obsidian’s next RPG, announced in 2020, is obviously one of the major projects underway on the Xbox Game Studios page, but it’s also one of the major absences from the event. Avoved, which takes place in the world of Pillars of Eternity, will capture various elements that are present in the original saga and that players will be able to take advantage of: we are talking in particular about the possibility of using different spells, to use enchanted swords that allow to achieve powerful combinations and double daggers that are useful for stealth but also for delivering violent kicks and shields. Obsidian is similarly at work on The Outer Worlds 2 and Pentiment, we do not know when Avowed will provide an update …
Like other games from Xbox Game Studios, Awowed will be included in Game Pass when released on PC and Xbox Series X | S.
Perfect Dark, developed by The Initiative, one of the new Xbox Game Studios, will mark the return of the franchise of the same name. At least when it’s more in depth … Like the original episode released in 2000 on Nintendo 64, this opus will make us embody Johanna Dark in a plot that incorporates all the codes for spy movies with secret agents, tech-packed gadgets and of course infiltration. Whether you prefer sneaky pace in the levels and are trying to eliminate your targets in silence or rather want to enjoy first person gun fights, you should have plenty to do!
Perfect Dark will therefore be released on PC and Xbox Series X | S and will be directly available in Game Pass.
STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl
Despite developments that have been largely disrupted by recent events in Ukraine, STALKER 2 is still highly anticipated by gamers, and we very much hoped to see it at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase. This title, which once again takes place in the exclusion zone of the Chernobyl power plant, will still offer more options to explore and will also host many sequences of armed clashes against various human factions and mutant creatures as a result of some of the failed experiments.
After several delays, STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl is now scheduled for 2023 on PC and Xbox Series and will be available on Day One via Game Pass.
It’s been official for a few months now, the Machine Games studio has been working on the new part of the Wolfenstein franchise, but also on the video game adaptation of Indiana Jones’ next adventure. Unfortunately, neither of these two titles were shown during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, and we still have not received any interesting information about them.
Wolfenstein and Indiana Jones are therefore shown exclusively on PC and Xbox Series X | S on an as yet unknown release date and will be integrated into Game Pass as soon as they are released.
Therefore, when the Contraband trademark was registered by Microsoft just a few days before the conference, the chances of seeing the next title from Avalanches Studios were quite high. It was not … As a reminder, the game takes place in Bayan’s fictional world in the 70’s and will offer a playable adventure in solo and collaboration in a giant open world with especially vehicles and various weapons. .
Contraband still does not have an exact release date, but is scheduled for 2023 exclusively on Xbox Series X | S and PC. It will be available the day of release directly in the Xbox Game Pass.
Despite Hideo Kojima’s swift intervention during the Xbox & Bethesda Conference with reference to the development of a title based on cloud games provided by Microsoft, we were not entitled to any details about the Silent Hill franchise. Is Kojima-San working on the license? Is a remake under development? Unfortunately, these questions are the same as before the start of the Summer Games Party, and it will therefore be necessary to be patient before knowing more.
In addition to games, there are also some major publishers missing, and this is especially the case with Ubisoft. We knew that the French company would not offer a conference at the beginning of the summer, but that did not mean that none of their projects would be shown, neither for the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase nor even the Summer Game Fest. A total absence that could thus worry the players, those who hoped, for example, to get news about Skull & Bones, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora or The Division Heartland. It therefore looks like we’ll have to wait for a next Ubisoft Forward, of which a new episode, according to some rumors, could also be offered at the end of 2022.
Like Ubisoft, EA is a major absence from the various conferences. After the presentation of the remake of Dead Space a few weeks ago and the first details revealed in season 1 of Battlefield 2042, Electronic Arts did not want to show other titles. It’s therefore a sure bet that the US publisher will offer an EA Play over the summer, if nothing else, to reveal more in depth FIFA 23 and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor: two titles that players have been waiting for.
