The key point in Episode III – Revenge of the Sith is the release of order 66 of Palpatine, after revealing himself as Sith Lord Darth Sidious. He orders it annihilation of the Jedi Order : The clones turn against their generals and an attack on the Jedi temple is mounted. If most Jedi perish, a few manage to survive the purge and this is how we find them in various Star Wars-stamped content, from comics to comics and novels.
The most famous: Obi-Wan and Yoda
At the end of Revenge of the Sith, only Venerable Master Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi remain.. They sent a message to the Jedi scattered across the galaxy, urging them to remain hidden. After which Yoda fails to eliminate Darth Sidious and goes into exile on the swamp planet Dagoba. As for Obi-Wan, who is unable to kill his former apprentice and gun brother, he goes to Tatooine to take care of little Luke Skywalker. We recently reunite with him in his own miniseries, where we briefly got to meet another surviving Jedi, Nari. While it is obvious that there are others, their life expectancy is, to say the least, uncertain.
Let’s start with the animated series The Clone Wars. At the end of season 7, the clones that accompany Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker’s former Padawan, turn against her.. Our former Jedi, since she left the Order, survive Order 66, and we will find her next year in the series in her name.
The series The Mandalorian taught us that the little mascot Grogu (Baby Yoda) was actually 50 years old and evacuated from the Jedi Temple at the time of Order 66making him a young survivor.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Video Game Heroes, Cal Kestis is only a Padawan as his master sacrifices himself to let him escape from order 66. A few years later he crosses roads with Cere Junda, a former Jedi master who relinquished strength after leaving his former Padawan, who became the second sister. He also crosses roads with another fallen survivor on the dark side, Taron Malicosending up alive buried on the planet Dathomir.
Padawan Kanan Jarrus manages to escape in the prologue to The Bad Batch. We find him years later in the Star Wars Rebels series, where he trains his own apprentice Ezra Bridger. Jedimesteren Eeth Koth was a member of the council, he survives and goes into hiding, succumbing to a duel against Darth Vader. The Jedi Archivist Nude Jocasta, fleeing the temple. She later returns there to retrieve the list of Force-sensitive children and is then killed by Vader. ONE Padawan Wookie named Gungi also seems to have survived, according to the trailer for the second season of The Bad Batch. We also learn this in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series Quinlan Vos is still alive.
Other survivors appear in comics and novels, as Ferren Barran apprentice who joins a group fighting against the empire until he is Father’s victim or Kirak Infil’a, also killed by the Sith Lord. that Jedi Master Uvell survived order 66, and even disappeared, it is unknown what became of him. A group of four Jedi (Nuhj, Khandra, Mususiel and Zubain Ankonori) sought refuge in a Jedi reserve on the planet Anoat before being found there and eliminated by the Inquisitors. The Darth Vader cartoon also teaches us that other Jedi are probably still alive as they are on the list of Jedi hunted by the Inquisitors. There we find especially Jedi Masters Oppo Rancisis and Coleman Kcaj.
We could also add the inquisitors on the account given that they are Jedi captured by the empire and converted to the dark side of the force. Either way, while it’s lucky that a few Jedi survived Order 66, their future is, to say the least, uncertain and these rare survivors may very well soon reach their end.
