Vivo hits hard from the start with a smartphone that has several enticing features. Its design is very neat, worthy of the greatest, and its screen is very good, combined with a fluid and simple interface. The photo section is rich, allowing you to have fun with the many focal lengths and the different shooting modes, but there is still a long way to go among the best. Autonomy is quite good without being excellent, and the SoC S765G does not quite offer the best performance on the market. Marketed at € 799 anyway, the X51 should have a bit of a hard time finding its audience as the Vivo remains unknown to the average user. At a lower price, the Oppo Find X2 Neo and Google Pixel 5 offer more accomplished performance.

Vivo X60 Pro is presented as a more successful version of its older, X51 Pro. The finishes are excellent and we enjoy using its amazing screen on a daily basis. Its SoC is certainly not the most advanced, but it performs all the tasks very well, while its camera delivers a pretty convincing performance. On the other hand, we regret the lack of waterproofing and a half-fulfilled promise in terms of optical stabilization in video. It represents an interesting compromise in the face of fierce competition. Those who want even more power can look at the Xiaomi Mi 11 or Zenfone 8 Flip, while photo enthusiasts might turn to the S21 5G instead. If you’re ready to make some concessions in terms of performance and finish, we remind you that the more affordable Google Pixel 5 is the most complete.

Vivo Y72 5G is a smartphone that above all stands out for its autonomy. It is actually among the most durable devices in its price range and will easily keep two days away from its charger. On the other hand, its direct competitors often offer a better screen, a more efficient SoC in the game, or better controlled images. However, it is able to perform common tasks without difficulty thanks to an efficient Dimensity 700 in multitasking. It is still unknown if its main asset is the most important for you.

The Vivo V23 is a capable smartphone that is comfortable to use. It has a good AMOLED panel – once calibrated – and a well-optimized SoC for multitasking and video games. Its main sensor can take good pictures during the day, but the ultra-wide angle is clearly disappointing. In return, it benefits from a very good equipment dedicated to selfies. However, its overall rating is affected by its durability score. In addition, its features put it ahead of very serious and often more affordable competitors. It is therefore primarily intended for vloggers and social networking enthusiasts.

With its Y70, Vivo hits the entry-level market hard. In addition to a very nice look, the smartphone provides a number of great ideas. For example, there is a fingerprint reader under the screen, a very fluid interface, a very well-calibrated screen, a pretty good day camera and very good autonomy combined with fast charging. We would have liked it to have an extra ultra-wide-angle lens or offer a two-speaker sound system. But overall, it is a very successful smartphone.

Vivo V21 5G is a comfortable smartphone to use on a daily basis, which still faces some of the toughest competitions. If his performance is good on most topics, he has a hard time standing out. Xiaomi Mi 10T offers a better photo experience, OnePlus Nord 2 5G has a more powerful chip and Samsung A52 5G has better overall ergonomics. Therefore, it is ultimately its most important selling point that should appeal to you: its front photo module. The latter captures high-quality day shots and allows you to shoot in 4K under very good conditions. It is therefore primarily aimed at amateur vloggers who want to find an ally at a reasonable price. The others will probably turn to a slightly more balanced unit.

A year after the Y20s, the Vivo Y21s brings few new features compared to its predecessor. Much like its predecessor in terms of design, this 4G smartphone has the advantage of offering a more contrasting screen, although not better calibrated, and of presenting a slightly more efficient 50-megapixel main photo module. However, these improvements are small and not surprising, especially since some models that are charged a few euros less are doing pretty well as well. The manufacturer is therefore content with an update, which we would have liked to have been more daring.

Vivo offers many smartphones in France. These include spearheads at relatively modest prices compared to models from competing brands, which are assembled in its X range. Tested in our laboratories, just like the manufacturer’s other mobiles (V- and Y-series), they are subject to our test protocol. We thus assess the quality of their screen, their power, their autonomy, but also their ability to capture beautiful images – a point that Vivo, thanks to a partnership with Zeiss, insists a lot on. Remember that the manufacturer is part of the BBK Electronics group, which includes another heavyweight in telephony: Oppo.
