State of Play: the big summary – PS4, Sony Interactive Entertainment, PS5, Playstation VR2, Studio Sai – News

Since Sony could not make a long and tedious conference, Sony made a small one State Of Play in 30 minutes filled with good news with a motto: play on PC. I’m only half funny. Apart from a few rare PS VR 2 games, all the featured titles will be released on PC often at the same time as the PS4 / PS5 versions. This is good: the PS5 is still not found unlike graphics cards, whose prices are slowly returning to normal.

We start with the announcement of the re-creation of Resident Evil 4 via a very dark trailer. The graphics have of course been completely redesigned, but we also get to know the controls. The 2005 game, despite a total dwarf scenario, had by then reinvented the formula and entered directly into the pantheon of the best action games. This new Resident Evil 4 will be released on March 24, 2023 on PS5, Xbox Cherries and Steam. And if you have not done so yet, we will advise you again much I can not wait to try the incredible HD project for the original RE4: The mod is free, and the game currently costs only a very small handful of euros on Steam.

We continue with the announcement of the PC port for the PS5 version of Marvel’s Spider-Man. Nixxes Software is responsible for the port, and it will be released on August 12 on Steam and EGS. If you skipped the console versions, we advise you to skip it. Happiness never comes alone, the PC gateway to Spider-Man: Miles Morales is also slated for release this fall. Meanwhile, Insomniac is working on Spider-Man 2, which should be released in 2023, but we feel the game will be postponed to 2024 due to the lack of news.

Let’s quickly move on to Horizon Forbidden West, which has just received an update that adds an Ultra Hard difficulty level and a New Game + mode to talk about Horizon Call Of The Mountain. Co-developed by Guerilla and Firesprite, it will be the spearhead of PS VR 2. On the program for this derivative episode: a lot of climbing, archery and a mode River Ride which allows you to appreciate the universe in a calm way. Graphically, it’s simply amazing, especially in an era where VR is dominated by mobile phone graphics. The only thing missing is a release date.

There were other PS VR2 announcements:

The Callisto protocol does not attempt to reinvent the wheel. We play the role of Jacob Lee, who is locked up inside a prison on a moon of Jupiter. The prison in question is controlled by a large box and is invaded by a kind of virus, which turns its inhabitants into bloodthirsty mutants. It will therefore be a third-person shooter with a horror morning, and if the result reminds you of Dead Space, it’s normal: The studio that develops it (Striking Distance Studios) consists in part of previous Visceral Games fire. The Callisto Protocol will be released on December 2, 2022 on Playstation, Xbox, Steam and EGS, almost two months before the modernized version of Dead Space.

Roll7, the creators of OlliOlli, have a passion for roulette as we put on skates in their new game called Rollerdrome. It will still be possible to do tricks, but the main goal is to kill your opponents in an ultra-violent game show, but also ultra-empty given the game’s settings. It will be a single player game only and it will be released on August 16 on PS4, PS5 and Steam.

Eternights is the first game from Studio Sai, and it offers a mix of action-JDR and flirtation in a post-apo world, all with graphics that look very anime. And the craziest thing is that neither Japanese nor Korean. The main objectives must be achieved in a limited amount of time, so you will have to choose wisely between training your comrades, seducing them, regaining resources and clearing the dungeons. It will be released in early 2023 on PS4, PS5, EGS and Steam.

Final Fantasy XVI came to say hello with a three-minute trailer that showed off quite a bit of combat. I want to tell you a lot more, but I’ve never played Final Fantasy in more than 15 minutes, so what we see goes completely beyond my head. The game is developed by Creative Business Unit III who is known for Final Fantasy MMOs (FF XI and FF XIV), but the guy in charge of the fights comes from Capcom. It is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2023 on PS5 and probably later on PC.

Capcom was in great shape as the publisher also unveiled the first Street Fighter 6 trailer, which introduces what appears to be a kind of open world. It’s a new game mode called World tour which is described as “an immersive single-player experience”. By his side there will be a state Campsite which will take the formula for the previous games of the license and one Battle Hub story of mocking his opponents before kicking their balls (or ovaries, #MeToo). The trailer also shows four fighters: Ryu, Chun-Li, Luke and a new child: Jamie. The game will also include commentators from the pro scene as in football matches. Street Fighter 6 will be released next year on Playstation, Xbox and Steam.

Annapurrrrna Interactive was ready to show off a new Stray trailer. It always looks so shiny, especially thanks to a captivating graphic touch. We can only hope that the gameplay is polished and that the soundtrack is signed Miou 2. The game is scheduled for July 19 on PS4, PS5 and Steam. While We Are for Fur Animals, Tunic will be released on PS4 and PS5 on September 27th.
