We have supported various subscription services and are happy to do so. (…) It does not make sense to us because we do not financially believe that consumers are willing to pay for it – why should they? – and we can not afford to disrupt our business in a way that does not make economic sense.

This could potentially be interesting for games that have been on the market for a while. If their price has been reduced, it may make financial sense to offer them on a subscription basis.

I’m always skeptical of buzzwords because they mean different things to different people, and people who invest behind buzzwords are unlikely to get good results. I’m not at all skeptical of the huge, interactive, dynamic and entertaining worlds because our company is responsible for hosting at least three of them. (…)

I think where my skepticism lies is that any company suddenly thinks that by saying the word “metavers” on top of their company’s business strategy, it means that they will be transformed in some way, and that nirvana is at hand, and of course it is not.
