What is the action in the High Isle expansion?
The High Isle chapter is part of The Elder Scrolls Online’s Breton Legacy saga. It allows the player to embark on the Bretons ‘former home via a main mission that is part of the Bretons’ heritage. The latter asks to reveal a secret order of knights led by the enigmatic Lord Ascendant as well as the Magus Ascendant, dark characters ready to draw a line during the peace negotiations in the War of the Three Standards. If no one can stop them, they will throw the whole of Tamriel into a bloody war. Breton culture obliges, the heroes will have to face various insidious traps while unraveling various political intrigues. All the while, they are under the crossfire of three rival factions: the Dufort House, the Mornard House, and the steadfast community.
What are the new places to explore?
The new area to explore, the Systres Archipelago, consists of Île-Haute and Île d’Amenos. These places, which have never been explored before in The Elder Scrolls, have towering cliffs, towering castles and lush jungles. The architectures to visit as well as places to explore promise to be exotic. The artistic direction used brings a cachet that should appeal to regulars. These new sites will make it possible to find some famous protagonists.
What’s Tales and Glories, the news of the taverns?
Tales of Glory is described as “a new way to relax in Elder Scrolls Online”. What is it really about? Simply a trading card game with which it is possible to meet NPCs or friends, a bit like Hearthstone or Magic. The player can collect cards via the Tavern (a reserve of 5 cards) to form the best possible card games to beat his opponents. At the start of the game, each participant selects two piles attached to two mentors. These mentors can be summoned during the game, giving the player who started the action special bonuses. The goal, of course, is to chain destructive actions to win the duel. There are two conditions of victory: either the player accumulates 40 Prestige, or he succeeds in obtaining the benefits of the four mentors. In this turn-based card game, players have 90 seconds to decide. Eight mentor decks are available, each centered around a house or person from Tamriel. The first four decks (Celaros Loremaster, Delmene Hlaalu, Duke of Ravens and Saint Pekin) are available after completing the tutorial. The last four are unlocked by completing special quests.
What is new?
The High Isle expansion also includes a new raid (12 person PVE) called Doomsail Reef, new world events called Rifts and new bosses, side quests, dungeons and never before seen caves. Additionally, this chapter brings collectibles and rewards that the adventurer does not find elsewhere on Nirn. Finally, two new companions enter the arena: Braise (a Khajiit) and Isobel (a Breton). They will benefit from dedicated quests as well as a more elaborate background story than the other companions.
The Elder Scrolls Online High Isle expansion is coming out on June 6, 2022 on PC and Mac. It will arrive on June 21, 2022 on Xbox One, Xbos Series X | S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles.
