This is how the price table works
How does Samsung’s Galaxy S20 FE 5G, released in late 2020, compare to Google’s acclaimed Pixel 6, released a year later? To find out, we confronted these two phones launched at almost the same price in an exciting duel. The opportunity to see that the Samsung smartphone, which can be found at attractive prices, is still in the race despite the victory for the Pixel 6 in the end.
A Galaxy S20 FE 5G is far from exceeded
Lighter and offering a microSD port, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G hosts a slightly larger screen (6.5 inches compared to 6.4 inches for the Pixel 6), which above all has the advantage of being updated at 120 HZ and display a higher brightness, which enhances its use outdoors, especially under the sun (788 cd / m² against only 484 cd / m² for Pixel 6). In either case, the colorimetric rendering is very good, and it’s ultimately the Samsung model that stands out a bit.

Another benefit of Samsung’s phone is autonomy. It charges faster than Pixel 6 (about 1 hour and 30 minutes compared to 2 hours for Google mobile) and provides better life on full charge despite the integration of a battery with a very slightly reduced capacity (4500 mAh against 4600 mAh on Pixel 6).

So in the end, of course, it’s Google Pixel 6 that comes out on top. Its newer Tensor chip is faster on our performance index, whether it’s in games or on the application side. A noticeable difference that is not necessarily felt in the daily use of the smartphone, the Snapdragon 865 on the Galaxy S20 FE 5G still delivers high-end performance to this day.

On the photo side, Google’s image processing makes the difference, though the Samsung phone is better equipped with a trio of rear sensors (wide angle, ultra wide angle and telephoto), which provide greater versatility. Pixel 6 hits the head on the nail in low light conditions.
On the price, Samsung advantage
“The very successful Galaxy S20 FE proves that it is far from outdated to date. Equipped with a beautiful screen, powerful and durable, the smartphone has very few weak points”concludes Laure Renouard, Head of the Mobility Department at Digital. With € 100 (or sometimes € 200) less than Google’s Pixel 6, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G is certainly still a model to keep an eye on who wants to switch mobile without necessarily spending a minimum wage on a recently advanced smartphone.
