This Samsung Galaxy Book2 against the competition
This Samsung Galaxy Book2 is currently being marketed by Baker and Fnac. It is located in the middle of its category, where it is one of the only ones offering such a new processor (Alder Lake).
Chassis, connectors, monitor on this Samsung-Galaxy-Book2
It’s an understated look, as this versatile laptop has its sleek and lightweight anthracite anti-fingerprint design.
It is equipped with good connectivity with its 2 USB-C, its Bluetooth 5.2 wireless modules and Wi-Fi axis (newer and more efficient than Wi-Fi ax) to communicate and connect remotely, its convenient HDMI video output to easily connect it to a TV or monitor, e.g. its audio port or its 2 USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) guarantees transfers performed up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if you connect a USB 3.0 device.
A fingerprint reader is integrated in the on / off button, it is possible to authenticate by biometric recognition through Windows Hello technology.
The keys on the chiclet keyboard can be backlit, which is convenient for better distinguishing them in case of limited ambient light.
The screen is well suited for displaying High Definition content such as videos with its Full HD resolution and 16: 9 format. In addition, it has significant viewing angles, both horizontally and vertically, thanks to its IPS technology. As it is anti-reflective, the screen also provides better visibility in a bright environment (eg outdoors) than a glossy panel.
Performance, autonomy of this Samsung Galaxy Book2
This Samsung Galaxy Book2 is aimed at those who are looking for a sober, thin and lightweight laptop for general nomadic use.
Many users will be pleased with the overall performance provided by this slim and lightweight Ultrabook because it is built around 16GB of RAM and an Intel Alder Lake-U Core i7-1255U processor.
In addition, the latter directly integrates the Iris Xe graphics part, thanks to which you can view photos and videos, but also play modest titles while there is no dedicated graphics card on board, which is remarkable.
However, if the purpose is often to perform work that consumes processor and / or graphics resources, it is better to opt for a PC based on a non-low-power processor and / or a suitably dedicated graphics card.
Storage is here entrusted to an SSD, which significantly improves responsiveness and fluidity on a daily basis compared to a simple hard drive. Because it is much faster, but also less energy-intensive, more robust and silent.
In practice, thanks to the SSD, we achieve much faster start / stop, processing and launching of applications or even a faster arrival on the cards in online games.
It is a 512 GB SSD integrated here, a capacity similar to that offered by standard hard drives. Of course, in the event that 512 GB is too tight, you can use an external storage device such as a USB-C / USB 3.0 device to take advantage of fast transfers.
Finally, in terms of autonomy and awaiting more concrete tests, opt for around 8 hours of battery life with light use of this discreet versatile Ultrabook, whose transport is facilitated by its lightness, compactness and finesse.
