They report directly to General Management and have increased the level of delegation regarding decisions regarding clients, loans, recruitment and other budgetary processes. Gathered in cross-cutting steering groups, their managers ensure the implementation of the group’s strategy.
This organization, created in 2019, promotesagility and proximity to customers while maintaining cross-cutting cooperation and guaranteeing the independence of control functions.

An action that revolves around three mechanisms

  • The Group’s strategy committee

Consists of the CEO, the Deputy Directors and the Heads of Business units and Service unitsthis committee ensures the strategic management of the activities.

  • Strategic steering group of Business units (BU) and Service units (U.S)

Consists of the main management, the leader of Business unit or the Service unit concerned, the Chief Strategy Officer and the leaders of certain Business units and Service units, this committee meets at least annually for each of the BUs and SUs. The committee devotes its meetings to the strategic management of the BU or SU in question.

  • Group cross-disciplinary supervision

The senior management coordinates the customer committees (Major Risks Committee, France Major Business Committee, European Major Business Committee, Medium Business Committee) as well as the ten steering groups for the group’s activity.

Focus on the Committee on Responsible Commitments

Since 2019, Societe Generale has had one Group Responsible Commitments Committee. This committee, which is placed under the responsibility of the CEO or the Deputy CEO with responsibility for risk supervision and compliance, investigates and mediates complex cases that pose a reputational risk or do not comply with the Group’s standards regarding CSR, ethics or reputation. It consists of the heads of the Compliance department, the Risk department, the Communications department, the CSR department and the heads of the affected business and service units, and is also responsible for entering into new commitments or developing the Group’s normative framework.
