Business Apps School, an inclusive school for training in new digital professions

The Business Apps School of Nantes offers for 18 months to follow a free education for students in the subject “Designer Developer of Applications”, a course that makes it possible to obtain an RNCP title at level Bac + 3.

Thus, the 8 students in Nantes have benefited from an intensive 6-month training and are currently on a work study program for 1 year in one of Microsoft’s six partner companies: Exakis Nelite, Expertime, Masao, Syd, Symelia and Talan.

The education focuses on two pillars, know-how and interpersonal skills:

  • The acquisition of technical skills, to assimilate the basic elements of the company such as project management, development of a business application, design of a database, automation and data visualization, the use of “Low code / No code” for manufacturing and implementing a business application. A bespoke program built hand in hand with the WebForce3 training organization and Microsoft’s business experts.
  • Development of relational skills and emotional intelligence. For this, Social Builder has led the recruitment of students and developed training modules aimed at improving their professional posture, whether it is their self-assertion, their leadership, emotional self-defense, active listening skills, stress management or non-violent communication.

“We are proud to partner with the School of Business Apps and to bring our expertise in inclusion to the Nantes promotion by facilitating access to exciting jobs in the digital world for retraining profiles” comments Emmanuelle Larroque, General Delegate for Social Builder

A retraining program that takes into account the needs of the market

With Nantes, seven campaigns from Business Apps School have emerged since their launch in March 2021. The campaign welcomes a wide range of profiles and is placed as a continuation of courses for students who already have an initial background in development.

Most students follow a retraining course such as:

  • Ghilain, 37 years old, after a Master STAPS and an experience as a teacher of customized physical activities and sports educator has already followed a training in computer projects and web developer.
  • Alexandra, 47 yearsafter several years of experience as a sales consultant, she trained herself by following coding workshops.

“We already have 6 campaigns running throughout France, today it is in Nantes that our professionalisation and innovative program proves its effectiveness and its impact on people far from employment. We are proud to face a double challenge for companies in Nantes: to meet their digital skills needs and CSR commitments.Business Apps School specifically illustrates that an inclusive approach creates a positive and lasting impact for businesses and communities. ” says Alain Assouline, President of WebForce3.

This course aims to meet a need that emerged strongly during the COVID19 pandemic. A large number of companies have been forced to adapt their internal processes and encourage members of their IT and business teams to jointly develop application solutions that need to be implemented as soon as possible.

A response to the crisis, made possible by the development of “low code” applications, a technology that offers the benefits of speed and agility, and which is at the core of the training of its business orientation.

“After hosting the Microsoft Experiences Lab, we’re excited to see the creation of the Business Apps School in Nantes. By targeting people in professional retraining in particular, this new school will enable the digital to become a “A real lever for inclusion. At a time when companies in the area are facing recruitment problems, this particular operational training is gaining its full significance.”, explains Yann Trichard, President of CCI Nantes St-Nazaire

Present since 2019 in Nantes, with the opening of its Microsoft Experiences Lab, an innovation hub for businesses in the region, Microsoft, with the Nantes promotion of Business Apps School, is renewing its support for digital transformation of the territory.
