Audi e-Tron GT Quattro, 100% sporty, 100% luxury, 100% electric

The Audi e-tron GT quattro was launched in February 2021 and immediately established itself as a safe game. No doubt: this 100% electric sports sedan opens a new chapter in the brand’s history with the four rings. Thanks to this model, Audi has just won its fifth World Car Award. These equivalents for the Oscar award for the automotive world are awarded each year at the New York Motor Show by hundreds of international journalists. “We are pleased that the Audi e-tron GT quattro has been a finalist in three categories just one year after its world premiere. It proves that electric mobility can be sustainable, dynamic and fascinating at the same time.”said Oliver Hoffmann, board member in charge of technical development after winning the World Car Performance trophy.

A nice design

This four-door coupe rarely shows harmony and aerodynamics. Among other things, we like its sober and refined lines. Inside, the sedan continues in the same spirit and exhibits refined luxury without splendor. Here the space is particularly conspicuous. The front seats are separated by a large center console, while at the rear there is plenty of space for the passengers with the disappearance of the transmission tunnel, allowing a flat floor and increasing the impression of space in the cabin dashboard, oriented towards the driver, gives this soft feeling. In addition, we can only appreciate – as for the rest of the vehicle, which Audi claims to be completely carbon neutral in production – that recycled materials were preferred over leather.

Maximum driving experience

On the performance side? No disappointments. Thanks to the many technologies it abounds with, the e-tron GT quattro is as dynamic and sporty as it looks. Driving pleasure is instantaneous, especially because of its perfect connectivity: infotainment, online services and above all advanced assistance systems … Even the sound, powerful and progressive, is created especially for the model who comes to emphasize this great experience, for the driver as much as for the passenger. Without forgetting the autonomy, it is also at the meeting place with a little more than 480 km. That is to say, whether this jewel strongly convinced Benoît Durand Tisnes, President of Wayden. A company that positions itself as one of the leaders in interim management. He tells us.

Interview with Benoît Durand Tisnes

Decision makers. What are your first warm impressions?

Benoît Durand Tisnes This car is a concentrate of luxury. Everything on board is present, so the experience, from the driver to the passenger, is best: the silence, the richness of equipment, the comfort of the seats, the perception of safety … On the technical side, what surprised me most is the linearity of The acceleration and the available torque despite its very heavy weight.

Does a destination inspire you?

A weekend at the Auberge du Jeu de Paume in Chantilly. But in absolute numbers, I would say one of the major roads in northern countries like the one between Copenhagen and Malmö via the Øresund Bridge. These countries are really ahead of us when it comes to respecting nature.

Music to listen to on the road?

Luxury, inner silence, the voluptuousness of the experience … A symphony, perhaps Mozart’s No. 25. Which magazines or books on the back package shelf? Definitely related. I would say Le monde sans fin by Christophe Blain and Jean-Marc Jancovici in Dargaud. He explains through a very well made cartoon about the energy miracle and the climatic operation.

What do you put in the trunk before you leave?

An oil fired generator to handle any eventuality … Just fun !!!

A business lunch, which officer do you leave the keys to?

Absolutely everyone, because the car is very easy to handle, so they all know how to park it. To be in touch with the spirit of the vehicle, I would still choose a restaurant in a rural setting, but in the city: Auberge du Bonheur, in the Bois de Boulogne.

And a break on the go?

At a small organic farmer, on a winding country road … After politely asking him for power and during charging time! The last word? “Advance by technology”, of course! (“Advance through technology” has been Audi’s slogan for more than 50 years, editor’s note)
