The Investment Facility launches a statement of interest in Egypt, Senegal and Tunisia

Companies with investment projects that are likely to facilitate women’s access to finance and employment are encouraged to participate in this call for expressions of interest. Investments for Employment Facility (IFE) has launched an online survey, which is open from April 1 to 30, 2022.

This call for expressions of interest is addressed to private companies in Egypt, Senegal and Tunisia who are seeking potential grants to co-finance their investments in the areas. access to finance and of access to employment for women. The purpose of the call for expressions of interest is (a) to assess the market potential of projects that facilitate women’s access to finance and employment and (b) to gather information on the challenges and needs of potential future applicants for a grant from the facility; Investments for employment.

Information received about the specific type and size of investments, job creation potential, etc. will provide IFE with valuable information to tailor its possible subsequent call for project proposals to properly meet the needs of partner companies in Egypt, Senegal and Tunisia. The launch of the call for project proposals is planned for the second half of 2022.

Projects that IFE could fund should be operationally viable and financially sustainable. The time between the investment and the start-up of the operation must not exceed 24 months. In line with IFE’s overall objectives, eligible projects must also contribute to creation of a a significant number of jobs – in the partner’s unit or in other units (multiplier effect).

Lightness Investments for employment is an investment mechanism created by KfW Development Bank within the framework of I‘special initiative Education and employment from the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The Special Initiative, which operates under the brand Invest for jobsaims to remove barriers to investment and create jobs and educational opportunities in its partner countries in Africa: Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Morocco, Rwanda, Senegal and Tunisia.
